Locate
Mark the Iron Nest and the Spotters named in the reports. Draw bearings from the Spotters. Do not treat those bearings as gun data yet.
Research records treat Fire and Light as the second demo mission: first a Spotter-driven location problem, then an illumination / correction problem. Use this as a skill guide, not as a coordinate dump from someone else’s playthrough.
Mission Flow
01
Mark the Iron Nest and the Spotters named in the reports. Draw bearings from the Spotters. Do not treat those bearings as gun data yet.
02
Re-measure bearing and range from the Iron Nest, solve in the calculator, load, aim, fire. Community videos of this mission use a conventional high-explosive shot for the first problem — confirm the shell the current order actually names.
03
The mission then asks for Star Shell work. Community guides describe using impact recon / correction cues (including directional arrows on photos) to adjust where you illuminate. Star Shell is not a Scout Plane and is not a demolition round.
Naming — Speedrun listings and community walkthroughs call this mission Fire and Light and place it after Calibration Fire in the demo roster. The in-game menu in your build is the authority if names differ.
Not published here — Video coordinates, bearings, powder charges, and “the second mission is much harder” as an official difficulty rating. Those are single-session examples or author opinions.
