Calculator Inputs & Order

The Ballistic Calculator turns a completed map problem into an elevation (and related firing solution). It does not find the target for you. This page covers role and order. It does not publish a formula as an official rule.

Procedure

Use it after the map, not instead of it

  1. 01

Finish map work first. The calculator solves a measured target, not a guess.

  2. 02

Confirm which target you are solving (community guides mention a target card / selected target).

  3. 03

Provide the measured range and the firing bearing taken from the Iron Nest.

  4. 04

Select the shell and powder charge that match the mission instruction.

  5. 05

Read the required elevation the machine returns, then set the turret by hand.

  6. 06

If position, shell, charge, or the report changes, treat it as a new problem.

Community guides describe inputs in the family of target, shell, range, powder charge, and elevation. Exact field names on your panel may differ by version — match the in-game labels, not this paragraph.

What is solidSteam store copy and community operation guides agree the loop is measure, then calculate, then load and aim by hand. The “map first” order is the part we will stand behind.

Not published hereA community video shows a manual estimate of the form distance / max range = elevation / 60. That is a player experiment, not a developer formula, and it is not treated as true for every shell. Charge tables, AP/HE sample numbers, and error margins stay unpublished until checked in the current build.
